There is Immunet, they claim that it can run along side most AV's. Ive tried it but figured Avast! was good enough just by itself that I uninstalled it after trying it.

You do have to register for an account to connect to the cloud servers, but other than that its free, unless you consider upgrading to the Pro edition that has more scanning features.

Immunet could claim whatever they want... I've tested with avast and only got problems, troubles, crashes, etc.

So its best to run avast with an on demand scanner
