avast and connections
« on: July 17, 2012, 12:21:10 AM »
Why avast created more than 50 connections?
Normally keeps them 1 to 10. What is the purpose of these links?
Connections are sometimes over 70.
Connections are now 7.

Avast doesn't create all of these connections.

When you understand how avast works, especially the Web Shield you will know why this happens. When you are browsing the internet your http traffic (requests) are redirected through the web shield localhost proxy (avastSvc.exe) so you will see those outbound connections. But the request originates from your browser and you should see many of those go to localhost port 12080.
