The link I posted was a request for something other than the dump you created and discussed.

ah sorry, didn't see that 1 your pointing at as a request as it seems to be more of an idea that that might be needed.
I also replied on that with the question if i should wait for the outcome of this file or should start uploading the other.

Anyways looking at https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=71 i have a little question.
4. When the computer restarts wait for the problem to occur.
Does this mean the "problem" of the regkey just created, or a problem with avast that should occur to be logged ?
Normally i don't have a noticeable "problem" during boot, the only noticeable thing is that internet is not working while i can ping other pc's in the network,
including the server which hands out the internet

At this moment the firewall module is NOT installed because if it is it can't go on the internet ;)
Does this affect the chance of problem discovery ?

If you remove the problem, then I guess finding out what causes the problem isn't possible.
Wait for someone from Avast to give you further instructions.

I understand, but the annoying thing is that if i do install the firewall again i then yet again have to go trough the process of removing the installation completely to install again without the firewall, because using the change button in add/remove programs uninstaller will force it to go online for changes which isn't possible with that firewall installed and my guess is with each time i uninstall/install i just get more and more registry left overs and what not, there's the special uninstall tool for a reason, and i feel like that doesn't even remove everything (still had sandbox directories all over my hd's)

I kind of want to be done with this already, this really is not what i expected by buying software, not to mention anti virus/firewall.
Guess i'll stick to free stuff myself other then the occasional game i'd buy.

I don't really know much about the firewall, Lukor could have more insights (and possibly simpler things to check), but if we're talking about dumps, my guess is that the relevant ones here might be the firewall service (afwServ.exe), but most likely a full system dump would be needed.
I'm sorry I've been off the forum a few days due to an emergency.  I had already PM'd Igor, but got no response.  I'm now going to PM Lukor for assistance.  In the meantime, follow the instructions above to get a full dump file and name it uniquely (giving us the name in the thread).  I sincerely thank you for your patience.

Hi Tekkie, Is this fixed yet. We are seeing same issues with firewall after updates. Thinking the firewall component just too buggy and (not optimised- slows everything down). Just run aswclear, reinstall without firewall component. Wait for avast to fix it up.  :-\

Yes sure patience :P
I wasn't near any pc for a bit, so i have not uploaded that new file either yet.
Tho i must admitt it sure looks like they haven't done anything with that first file i send.
As there is no response about that yet.
Will upload the other when i get a chance, will need some time for it on my dads pc, because of the whole install/uninstall story.
My dad himself is pretty annoyed by now i might add....

it's about 1 year later now and i had to reinstall my dads pc and now again or actually still the firewall module just blocks all his internet, we payed for a year and he couldn't even use his firewall.
We are verry near needing a new payment, but to be honest seeing that this problem obviously still was not even resolved....

I really do like avast, don't get me wrong, i use it on my pc to and there it works perfect, nothing to complain.
But on my dads pc it still blocks the net this makes me think of swapping myself to to another brand.

So if anyone can point me to a permanent solution, and please no stuff like dumpfiles here and there, becaus it never is beeing looked at anyways and it's a fresh win xp 32 bit install.
No other firewalls or other virusscanners what so ever.

I'm sorry i am coming of a bit strong, but well it's been nearly a year.
