Beta2: Call/SMS filter wildcard
« on: July 20, 2012, 05:14:24 PM »
The beta looks good so far.  One question on the wildcard call/SMS blocking, how would you block a whole area code?  It says that it requires 4 numbers before the wildcard.  I tried 1-555, but it does not block calls from this area code.  I think changing this to a 3 number requirement would be more useful.

Are you using the "+" sign?

I did try it with the + sign (+1555) and that did not work.  I tested from a local number, and the caller id shows (555) XXX-XXXX.  When testing I called with and without the 1- area code prefix.

Another thing I noticed it that it seems that the phone does vibrate once and then catches the call, I don't recall it doing that in the current release version.

Just to be sure, does your filter number look like this: "+1555*" ?

How about when you try to filter the exact number, like "+15551234567", does that work?

Yes, blocking an exact number does work.

Any ideas?  Is this a known issue?

Yes, we saw it before, but is very hard to reproduce it. I believe Ondrej will solve it :-)

The call filter does work but does not seem to read the 1 before the area code.

Example

+1555* or 1555* did not block numbers from the 555 area code.

5550* did block numbers from the 555 area code starting with 0.

Also, the phone does vibrate once and the led flashes once before it is intercepted.
