How to install it directly to the phone.

I am totally stuck as it downloads on my phone as an zip file and not a executeable file.

What do you mean exactly, the files are .apk that you can click and invoke installation over Android...

Weirdly enough I do yes. As for tech no you can't when you download the file it downloads as a zip file. If you unzip the file then you have loads of files that you can't do anything with.

Which is the program packed as .zip file that you're trying to install?
A full ROM? avast! is downloadable as a .apk file.

When I download the beta file when the file downloads it stores on my phone as a zip file.

What device do you have? Which OS running? Are you downloading it via device or via desktop?

Hi,

try to rename the extension from .zip to .apk and then "tap" on the file in your file manager on the device.

Thanks that worked fine. Please inform the clueless that is does indeed download as a zip file as I will not be inferred to like I am lying by somebody that does not know anything about anything.
