Blocking Websites
« on: August 21, 2012, 06:24:25 PM »
Is there any trick to it that I don’t see?  I block say facebook.com from a group of computers.  It works great when the go to http://www.facebook.com  But if they follow a link to https://www.facebook.com it allows access to the website.  I tried blocking https://www.facebook.com and they still have access to that site (after the client restart).  How can I block the https://****** from people?  I’m running Avast Enterprise 7.0.223

I have a problem for blocking some web pages with https protocol.

avast! doesn't block https.
avast! (and any other antivirus) can't even scan it as it is an encrypted traffic.

Use your hosts file to block https:// sites.
