Aside from the fact that it isn't advisable to run combofix without guidance.

Posting a combofix log in isolation really isn't that useful, what is wrong that made you consider running combofix ?

What do you mean by the above bold?

Never checked this software so tried it on my test system on which I test malware. I dont understand the logs so wanted to know if anything suspicious.

Well it is a whole sentence, and it is the latter part that completes the question, what is wrong with your system that you even considered running combofix.

Generally people report the problem with their system first to give an idea of what they might be looking for. It is usually then that a suggestion would be made as to what analysis tools should be run. Combofix isn't a tool of first resort and as I have said not without being advised to do so.

For more information How to use ComboFix

Quote
ComboFix is a program, created by sUBs, that scans your computer for known malware, and when found, attempts to clean these infections automatically. In addition to being able to remove a large amount of the most common and current malware, ComboFix also displays a report that can be used by trained helpers to remove malware that is not automatically removed by the program.

It is this automatic cleaning if not done in the correct order with some malware infections that can mess up your system and why it isn't recommended to run it unless advised and under guidance.

So it appears you have no problem on your system you just thought you would run this tool - there are other solely analysis tools that are used for these tasks OTL, but again just dumping an analysis log without reporting what is wrong with the system makes life harder for whoever is going to be analysing it.

Not to mention this should have been in the viruses and worms forums and you will see that the few malware removal specialists in the forum members are pretty busy with real malware removal to just look at isolated logs without knowing what the problem is to start with and you aren't giving any indication there even is a problem.

OK got it.

The prob is after the system boots up it hangs for few secs app 30 secs. & after that everything is fine.

I ran various scanners like MBAM, Hitman, Avast Boot Scan, Dr Web & Comodo Live CD, Checked with Comodo KillSwitch & Autorun, Kaspersky TDSS, ran a complete check disk, Nothing found.

So I thought of ComboFix & posting the logs.

I'm not a malware removal Specialist, but I didn't see anything in the log, there were no detections/deletions noted in what was a very short log. If there was an issue I would have expected to be larger.

If this is a test machine, you should either be running in a VM environment or using hard disk imaging software. So after any testing you set the system back to its known clean start point, otherwise you don't know if it is clean prior to any further testing.

Its a test system so I do the test on real system & restore the system to original state. Previously I was using Comodo Time Machine & now Sysrestore. Both have always successfully restored the system.

Can you have a look at the OTL logs plzz? Just did a scan with OTL.

Later I will open a new thread in the malware thread.

Attached is the log

But this is no different that posting your original combofix log, the malware removal specialists (volunteers) are pretty busy when they have time to do this than to look over logs when essentially you have found nothing with other scans and don't appear to be experiencing any malware symptoms.

This may well sound harsh or unsympathetic - But if this is a test machine that you use for testing viruses, you really should be able to set your system back to a clean state without the help of a specialist. As I have said I'm not a malware removal specialist, so I can't look over these specialist logs.

The system is at clean state.

The only prob is after boot the system hangs for app 30 secs, dont know why?

Thinking of reinstalling the system. It will take time as CD drive dont work on the system & I have to make a USB install with WinToFlash.

Thanxx for your time & help.

Regards

If it is a clean state then these malware analysis tools are unlikely to help resolve system problems. Something like BootVis is more likely to identify boot issues.

I used bootvis a couple of times in the past if only to find out what it was like, but for me it didn't really help as my system was generally fine and adding bootvis actually adds a little to the boot duration.
