  • If you do not have a solution to the OP, go away!
My best guess is that most new user that decides to purchase the "pro" version basically upgrades from an installed "Free" or "Trial" version.

For that to happen, a user must be happy about many points.
As for what I'M concern, I want PROMPT service.
When there is a bug, it must be quickly fixed. For an Anti-Virus... twice as quickly.
It show the company knows whats it's doing and that it stand behind their WHOLE product line.

AFTER 2 WEEKS of DOUBLE SOUNDING UPDATE ALERTS, I came here to see if I was alone with this problem.

Lo and behold there is a thread... What ??? Like me, people have been having this problem for 2 weeks now and, as I am not the first to complain in that thread, there is not a single post from anybody at Avast. Not even an acknowledgment. It's to a point that a "Good Samaritan" as taken upon himself to calm thing down and is, I like that one, offering a patch !!!

HELLLLLLLOo !
DOES Avast care enough about its free user to at least give a sign of life ?

Are you guys aware that there has been a problem for more that 2 weeks now ?
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=101278.0
It's 2 weeks old, It's 10 pages long, it has 135 replies, almost 4 thousand views and the "meter" is about to go ballistic.

NOW HEAR THIS !
I don't want any Free Loading Avast Evangelists, with 40-80 thousand posts, to answer on anything here as none of you actually work for Avast Software S.R.O... and seriously, who wants an answer from lifeless zombies that know nothing and have no power to have anything changed... you can only forward issues.
On the other hand, I welcome posts from normal users that do have possible solutions.

That, unfortunately, I don't know. Hopefully soon, because there are still some issues that should better be solved (including this one, even though it's just a glitch that doesn't affect the functionality in any way).

Andf you know this how? AIS is identifying itself as Malware. Is it not identifying real malware? Who knows. I can't speak for every Avast user but if this isuue is not resolved by 7.01.2012 when my licensee expires it will be adios Avast.

This thread is about the "virus definition updated" sound being played twice. So yes, I know it doesn't affect the functionality, I've seen the code.

As for the "AIS identifying itself" - you most likely mean the URL block. As far as I understand, an IP address, assigned to somebody else previously, has been blocked - but the IP has been reassigned to our servers in between. At least you can see that the detection subsystem works... (but apart from the fact the older versions of the program might not be connecting to that particular IP, it has nothing to do with the version of the program - it was simply a wrong detection inside of the virus definitions, present in all program versions - past or future).

OK Igor no need to get your panties in an uproar.
