Avast! Internet Security has slowed overall web browsing :(

Greets all,

I've recently activated Avast! Internet Security and I love it very much. However, since then my overall browsing speed has been drastically decreased. This is more visible on Facebook etc. Is that caused by its Firewall? Do I've to fully allow some stuff in the Firewall?

Any tips or help would be very, very appreciated.

what antivirus did you use before avast?
did you uninstall it before installing avast?
did you run the vendors uninstall tool to clear any leftover files?
what other security programs are installed?

I'm using Avast for more than a year and the previous one was Nod32. I've uninstalled it, before installing Avast! anti virus.

I'm using only Avast! Internet Security (apart from the stuff that comes with Windows 7, windows defender etc).

The performance ain't bad, but the browsing speed reduction is visible (on facebook for example).

Perhaps it's not AIS issue but I don't know what to do

AIS has protected my computer (WIN 7, IE 9) for years.  Within the past two weeks, my computer has begun to freeze, hang-up and run
     very slowly.  I have run everything WIN has to offer along with Malwarebytes and SpyBot.  Would an AIS boot scan help with this?

disable windows defender and the windows firewall.
Does it make a difference ?
