Always Lost or Stolen
« on: July 30, 2012, 10:47:52 AM »
Hi,

I've installed the AntiTheft Beta on my HTC Desire and every reboot brings up the 'This phone is lost or stolen' dialog with a request for the unlock PIN. I've unlocked it and marked it as found several times on both the website and by SMS but to no avail.

I just rebooted it at 09:44BST today (IMEI ends in 9127) if there is someway you can check what is going on.

Ta.

did you try to launch the UI to add the SIM to trusted list?

Yes, I've done that, and just did it again. The same thing happens.

hm. can you do the following:

a) create a file called "avast-debug" (without quotes) on your SD card root
b) reboot your phone

=> now logging is enabled

c) after the behaviour you reported, then go to the anti-theft feedback screen and create an issue (make sure everything is checked to include the log) -> send me the case number to holzner@avast.com

d) remove the file from the SD card
e) reboot the phone to disable logging again

Hi,

I've done that and just sent it to you with an email. The Ticket ID is: GNQ-606-22111

Cheers.

hi i have checked the log. it seems that when booting is completed your SIM card is reported as being ABSENT (which causes a lock) - it reports as LOADED / READY after additional 30 secs... usually IF there is a SIM card present, we never get the ABSENT state. Any idea why this could happen? Do you have dual SIM?

Thanks for taking a look at the log for me, and I do know what that is.

It's a app called "Call Master" which allows filtering of calls by blacklists. It often causes Android to pop up a box stating that the SIM card has been replaced and that the phone should be restarted.

I'll get onto the makers of that app and see if they can sort it out.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

if that doesn't go well, you can try "SMS/Call filter" in avast! Mobile Security and see if that suits your needs. It shouldn't cause any issues like that :)
