It isn't a mouse on the laptop essexboy but a track pad (or mouse pad as the OP describes it).
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Go start > Run type in :

devmgmt.msc

I must admit I am at a loss with this, as I say I have never had a laptop so I am not sure what can be done to rectify this

No recent pop ups in firefox, in addition to cursor going where it wants sometime, email also gets sent without clicking send, very, very annoying, this also did not happen before the virus, just now, what i disappeard and as i am typing, cursor repositions itself somewhere inbetween previously typed words,  i think there is still a virus here

This will take a while to run... For the zip analysis file could you upload to a file sharing siter for me to collect

Download AVPTool from Here to your desktop

Run the programme you have just downloaded to your desktop (it will be randomly named )

First we will run a virus scan

Click the cog in the upper right

Select down to and including your main drive, once done select the Automatic scan tab and press Start Scan

Allow AVP to delete all infections found
Once it has finished select report tab (last tab)
Select Detected threats report from the left and press Save button
Save it to your desktop and attach to your next post

Now the Analysis

Rerun AVP and select the Manual Disinfection tab and press Start Gathering System Information

On completion click the link to locate the zip file to upload and attach to your next post
