FTP Scans being blocked Server Endpoint protection 7

One of my clients recently purchased a Konica Minolta Multifunction Copier/Printer/scanner. For the first few days scanning was intermittent but from today totally blocked. If I disable all shields on the Server scanning continues as normal. How do I exclude the Scan folder on the Server 2008 or process from being blocked? Using standard port 21 to a shared scan folder on Server.

I spent two hours with the Konica Minolta Specialist and we thought we had it nailed down.

The following morning , get a call from client, no scanning again. I then called local Avast distributor and I was advised to stop the shields
one by one until the scanning started again. So the next morning I get a call from the client saying the scanning to the server is not working again.
I then stopped the web shield and the scanning started working again. Sounds like that's the culprit.

Next morning same thing Call saying Scanning not working again.

I then tried every exclusion known to mankind under the web shield section on the server and the symptoms persist. Last night I killed the web shield
completely and this morning I get a call, Scanning not working, so I stop the file shield and "VOILA" the scanning works again.

It's almost as though something happens during the night that Avast doesn't like and it kills the FTP scan to server.

I was advised to try a different port number as the company does FTP backups to my FTP server every night (port 21), so we changed the port to 1038 but the problems persist.

I can scan to two Win 7 x64 workstations on the domain all the time, also using AVAST endpoint and they scan every single day no problem.

Isn't there a log somewhere I can look at and see why Avast Endpoint doesn't like scanning to the Server from inside the office?

Just for the record the Server is 2008 R1, the IIS role has been removed, all this Server does is run the company accounting system (Pastel Partner / Pervasive Database),
acts as a small print server (7 Users) the occasional scan and file storage for the staff. All the workstations are Static IP Addresses (advised by Minolta) There are 3 x Windows
 7 x64 Workstations and 7 Windows XP Professional workstations. The Server has 4 Gb of RAM Core 2 Duo 3.06 CPU and 2 Tb Storage. (CPU usage is 1-2% and RAM never
exceeds 1.4 Gb Usage so this Server is idling along all day)

Please there must be someone out there using the Konica Minolta FTP Utility on a Server with Avast?
