Need help with avast full scan results
« on: August 04, 2012, 04:30:25 PM »
Hi,

avast full scan report says: "Some files could not be investigated" and "defined path could not be found (3)"

Report lists the following files:
program files\avast software\avast\defs\12080200\algo.dll
program files\avast software\avast\defs\12080200\aswcmnbs.dll
program files\avast software\avast\defs\12080200\aswcmnis.dll
program files\avast software\avast\defs\12080200\aswcmnos.dll
program files\avast software\avast\defs\12080200\aswengin.dll
program files\avast software\avast\defs\12080200\aswfidb.dll
program files\avast software\avast\defs\12080200\aswrep.dll
program files\avast software\avast\defs\12080200\aswscan.dll

Is this just info that avast donĀ“t check itself or something to worry about?

May be a stupid question - but reflects my skills with computers...  :)

might need further investigation or someone with a better explanation on the subject.

first, files that can not be scanned are just that, no more no less....it does no mean they are infected
avast just tell you it could not scan them and the reason why

seems to belong to avast def folder.....this sometimes happens when avast does a cleanup in the def folder

if you reboot and scan again the error should be gone...
