Weird error

Hi!

Today, when I came back home I went to my PC and found the following message:
(see attached)
I had never seen this before. Looking the system tray, there were two avast icons, but obviously one disappeared when I hovered over it with the mouse pointer. Any clues? avast had never crashed before on my system.

In case you're wondering, the message translates roughly as " The exception Unknown software exception (0x....) has occurred on location 0x..... Click on Ok to end this program"

Well, you're providing little to none info...

- Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS)
- Which version..??
- OS..?? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP..?)
- Other security related software installed..??
- Which AV did you use before avast!..??

Ok, here you go:
Avast free, latest ver.
win7 x64 sp1, all updates and patches.
Phenom II x4 945, 3 ghz, 8 gb ddr3 ram, 300+ gb free hd space.
no other security progs installed and avast is the  only av ever installed.

Do you get the error every time or was it just once..??

Just once, never before and never after (until now). It seems avast restarted itself and everything continued running fine.
My Pc's been running for almost two weeks straight (I never turn it off, only reboot if needed). Could be related.
