« on: January 12, 2005, 06:07:20 PM »
When I warning comes up that you have a virus is there anyway to stop that bar on the buttom right that says Avast! On Access Scnness Message from showing? I mean The warning screen where where it gives you the option to delete the virus is all we reallly need. Or am I wrong?

Hi gate1975mlm,
I for one like to know when avast! finds a virus but,
If you want to turn it off, the easyest thing to use is
RejZoR's  utility avast!ExternalControl. (AEC)
You can find it in the HelpfulLinks URL in my signature.

Uncheck Show virus tag on virus detection.

Silent with general answer NO
Yes your files are still scanned and any viruses found are put into the chest.

No, you're wrong. I think you posted too fast and did not read the user question. Bob is right.
The Standard Shield message could be hidden by un-checking the 'Show detailed action on performed action' option into the Advanced tab of the settings. Btw, you yourself turn it on as it's off by default  ;)
Oh, you're right, you do not really need this information, just the virus tag  :)

More information about the avast4.ini file you can see here. Set option ShowVirusTag=1 into the [AAVM] section to avoid the displaying virus advice (yellow/red layer that pops up when a virus is found). A reboot may be required for the changes to become effective.
