conflict with norton?

I was told that since I have Norton in use, that the Avast will cause real problems.  Anyone have procedure I sld use?

Do i remove all Norton, then install Avast?  Any conflicts?

  • any two resident antivirus programs will have conflicts.
DESKTOP: Win 10, Avast 20 Free, Windows firewall, Malwarebytes free

LAPTOP: Win 10, Windows Defender, Malwarebytes free, Windows Firewall, Mcshield

Yes you should uninstall Norton first then reboot, run the Norton removal tool and reboot then install avast.

Note that you should download and save avast and the Norton removal tool prior to removing your current antivirus.

After uninstalling Norton you can also run a search through your system by typing Symantec and Norton in the run bar ( one at a time ) then click on see more results and click on computer for the search to begin.
