Weird sound after login on Windows 7 64 bit
« on: August 10, 2012, 09:40:22 PM »
Running Windows 7 64 bit, this weird sound occurred one boot before a BSOD, and every boot after. I thought it had to do with my free trial of Internet Security, but I guess I was mistaken. It urks me when I hear this because I think it could be something wrong with my computer. Also, it comes from the speakers, not the computer itself. I scanned with Malwarebytes and avast! and no threats whatsoever. I really need some help with this issue and I'm not sure of where I should post this. Thanks for any help.

please follow this guide.

a malware expert will help you from there.

it could also be hardware related.

I'm pretty sure it isn't malware related, since a Full Scan from Malwarebytes and a Boot-time scan from avast! come up with no infections. I'll do that guide later, since I'm currently busy using the computer for other means. But I'd still like some info as this started AFTER removing avast! and re-downloading it. The BSOD happened after avast! was installed the second time.

Well, I did run the quick scan. Here's the log:

I understand this is a triple or quad post, but I'd just like to mention I have no idea if those scans show I have viruses or not. I don't believe I do, but if something is found please notify me ASAP. Thanks.

Would anyone mind notifying Essexboy of my problem? I just need someone to tell me if I do or do not have a virus. This has to be the first time I've seen nobody give me any help except mikael.
