Hi!!, two friends have problem in latest version.
Their computers are slow with the previous version by avast free. Usually happens when opening folders.

Also you may want to hide your EMAIL in your profile settings as you may be inviting spammers that troll this forum on occassion. 
they have Windows 7 Home Premium, only have installed avast
dual core, 2gb ram... etc
I disabled avast protection, the two machines working better. That did not happen before update avast
I am pc mid-high end, doesn´t affect me why have i5, 4gb ram
