Turning off sounds
« on: January 13, 2005, 02:31:57 PM »
I ticked the option to disable sounds but it didn't work. In the end, I went into the details and set each Avast sound to "none." Is this a bug?

I have sounds switched off on mine, but I also don't usually have my speakers on ;D unless I am specifically going to listen to something. So perhaps I need to keep them on.

You didn't mention which skin you're using, one of the "default" ones or one of Craftec's great contributions.

If you're using one of Craftec's skins, then (and I could be mistaken, feel free to correct me, Craftec or whoever) if you disable avast sounds then you get the "custom" sounds built into the skin. In one of the default skins, disabling sounds simply turns them off, as expected.

I'm using the enhanced user interface, so does the skins option for the simple interface still have a bearing on this? In any case, it was the suspicious message sound that operated, but others may have been operational as well. The skin for the simple user interface is the default one that initiates on program install.

You are right, the sounds for "suspicious messages" are played even when the sounds are off. This is a know problem - hopefully it will be solved in the next program version.
Any others?

Hi,try this in the simple user interface with the default skin. Right click the interface anywhere, hold the button down for a second and then release it. It may only happen on my computer but I get two sounds from the one click :) Two for the price of one :D
