Anti-Theft Installed as System App
« on: August 17, 2012, 01:07:22 AM »
Installed beta 2 on 2 phones no problems everything works.  On my web account shows my rooted phone anti-theft not installed as a system app.  How do you install as a system app? Does it make any difference if not.

Hi,

If you install Anti-Theft as a system app, it will survive the factory reset of the device. So when a thief steals your phone and immediately does a factory reset, Anti-Theft will still be there and functioning after the phone is turned on again.

To install it as a system app, you have to check the "Root install" option in the installation wizard (the Advanced installation mode) of Anti-Theft. If you already have AT installed, you have to uninstall it first.

Hope that helps,

Ondra

actually this is wrong. the AMS installation wizard just works for the public version, not rooted. you'll have to use ADB shell to install rooted beta.

I read that you have to 1st uninstall anti-theft beta and install the regular that allows you to install as system, then install beta over it?
