George.

The main virus database was updated to 120822-1. Does anybody have information about streaming updates?

Still a couple of hours for my Avast! to look for VPS 120821-1 automatically, but I got streamming update 12082201 at 3:40 pm local time ( +/- 9:00 PM Zulu )

Latest here is 23 August 08:54 BST (GMT +1), so it does look as if streaming updates are working for me again following yesterdays program update.

Although that was over 3 hours ago and nothing since.

I honestly can't believe this level of paranoia - Streaming updates are released as required and obviously there is no set frequency or time frame.

When the next regular VPS Auto Update occurs it removes the previous streaming updates as they are included in the regular VPS Auto Update.

If your system happens to be switched off or off-line or the connection is broken then you obviously can't receive a streaming update, unlike the regular VPS Auto Update which does an incremental update of updates you haven't received, the streaming update doesn't do that (as far as I'm aware).

Because the streaming updates are included in the regular VPS Auto Update you aren't really missing out on anything.

All would seem to be well again.  Virus Definitions (now 120823-0) and streaming update just updated minutes ago. :-)

Thanks David.  Not really paranoia, more a voyage of discovery.   :)

I think that we are going to need more information than "Its just doesn't work !!!!"
What is displayed in the Maintenance screen in relation to streaming updates, Connection established, Last update Received, etc. ?

Are Auto virus definitions enabled ?
Are Streaming updates enabled in the Summary, Cloud Services

It is working here

As I see you've already got packages number 8 and 9. But my latest received package is number 7 though the time difference between packages 7 and 8 is 1 minute (as it is clear from your screenshot).

That is the received time, that of the system time they were saved to file so any time zone difference and my system being off-line both would contribute to differences in time. So it is somewhat hard to say exactly, other than mine according to you has more updates.

I also have pkg120823000000000a which arrived at the same time as pkg1208230000000009.

Some time ago when the streaming updates were first mentioned and started, they were only happening during day time/working hours (Prague time). I don't know if that has been extended or not, but I haven't received any others since then.
