Dwarden.

Would like to answer, but I don't know how to determine.

Can you help me understand what/how to determine these two things ?
1. What type of server...?
2. whether ET pro or shrubet....?

No router, XP firewall turned off.

Another question:  Does Avast have its own firewall ?

Thanks,
x

I'm not a gamer so I can't help with 1 and 2 in your previous post.

Avast does not have a firewall. It has IDS. (Intrusion Detection System)

OK.  So how is IDS turne off ?

Have to tell you.
Uninstalled avast, and have not had "connection interupted" error for 2 hours.

The message means that you was protected and avast! blocked the attack.
To turn off the display of these messages, go to the settings of the Network Shield provider and uncheck the option "Show warning messages".
To turn off the IDS (not recommended), just terminate the provider and ask for 'persist' the changes after boot.

Technical,

Appreciate your effort, but kindly read the postings.
Your recommendation has been done previously--problem persists--
and the error message is not the same as the ones in your links.

Would appreciate any help in this matter.

Thanks,
x
