Reformatting an external drive
« on: August 19, 2012, 09:42:04 AM »
Dear Forum,

I used a backup programme (Easeus Todo) and created a hard disk clone onto an external drive.

The external drive had around 100 gb total capacity, but now it only shows around 50 gb as the total capacity (size of the cloned hard drive).

Question: How can you reformat the external drive back to its original size if the exact size (ie. total capacity) is unknown? The OS is Windows XP.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, since you did a clone instead of an image I suspect you probably have some free unallocated space on this drive now.
Can you go to disk management and post a screenshot of this drive to confirm ?
