Help with Exceptions in Avast Firewall with XP FW off
« on: August 20, 2012, 12:30:27 AM »
Hi,
I have been going bananas  for days wuth this problem.

I have XP Pro SP3 and the XP Firewall has for some reason been turned off and it says Group has taken over.  I have added exceptions i need, however they won't work because the thing is off.

I have checked and it seems there is another Firewall on with I cannot see.

Does AVAST have a Firewall?  I have looked and can't seem to find any reference to it in Settings or anywhere else but could have missed it.

I have FREE 7.0.1426

I need to enter in an exception so that I can get my program running between my Web shared web Linux server and my XP box.

Any help please?

Thanks in hope.

Thanks again for the help.

I have looked at those now and have got more info, however still cannot get the Windows FW to turn on.

I will keep looking.
