I have avast 4.5 that work very well on my Pc (Windows XP SP1). However, i am fed up with the pop up about the automatic update (it indicates if the update is done well).
How can i inhibit this pop up?

Hi valerian and WELCOME to forums !!!

Open SETTINGS, and go to UPDATE (BASIC) otpions. From there you have to click on DETAILS and then... well, take a look at screenshot... set running mode to SILENT and you won't see those messages any more.

P.S. It's been explained many many times in these forums already. If you haven't noticed (for future reference) there is very causy SEARCH option in these forums. Just click on that and enter your key word. I'm not telling this because I don't wanna help you, but because it will give you an answer much much faster.

How can i inhibit this pop up?

Set (or add) the following values into the avast4.ini file (section [AAVM]):
SuppressUpdateErrorInfo=1 to suppress update error message (not the update itself).
SuppressUpdatedInfo=1 to suppress the small blue info window (panel) in the notification area of your desktop on updating.

Thank you for the respons. I do not have this pop up any more.
Avast is a very efficient protection. However, it is sometime difficult to find the wanted setting.
