'GO SMS' Incompatability solved?
« on: August 22, 2012, 03:01:52 PM »
GO SMS can be set to NOT show avast! message commands.

As you know, avast! will ask you to uninstall an 'incompatible' SMS app so that the passcode in commands sent to the phone will not be shown.

I have a Galaxy S3 running GO SMSPro

Open GO SMS (all conversations view, NOT thread view)
Press 'menu' (softkey next to home button on S3)
This will bring up a pop-up with 'General', 'Services' and 'More' tabs
Swipe to, or press 'More'
Press 'Help'
Press 'Trouble shooting'
Check the 'Solve confliction with some security apps and voicemail' box
Restart phone
(you may have to do this more than once)
Test it!
Presto!

Tested with "GET 1 SMS" and "LOCATE" commands.

we have tried this approach and it is not reliable, so we're not yet recommending go sms usage before this is fixed.
