Hi Cloussau
Are you refering to the A icon on the taskbar ?
This icon is no longer there since I have de-activated the scanner earlier on.

I shut down non-critical processes using Windows task manager. One of the processes is ash.Disp.exe. The "A" icon disappears after I shut down this process. How to activate this again ?

Thanks for your reply.

You could try one other approch.
Click on the
HelpfulShortcuts
link in my signature and select
RejZor's excellent AvastExternalControl (AEC) program.
Select the avast! Main Control and then select and run Disable avast! Anti Virus Protection.
I would
not
use this if your online because it completely turns off avast!

How to activate this again ?
ashDisp.exe is the icon... if you close it (kill it), you won't see the icon
You can only run it again: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashDisp.exe
