Safezone breaking point?
« on: August 23, 2012, 11:01:36 PM »
So I recently purchased Avast after a few years of using it... and finally having the money to do so..

I love using safezone when making online purchases.. recently I launched it to buy something, but I get an error now..

"Safezone browser.exe - Application Error

  The exception Breakpoint
  A breakpoint has been reached.
(0x80000003) Occurred in the application at location 0x6377c1d0.

Click on OK to terminate the program."

Posted that earlier than I wanted.. wrong buttons there..

Anywho.. if anyone has a fix.. I'd really appreciate it.. I want to get back to my shopping :D

Try to repair Avast. Start-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs-Avast and select "Repair" follow instructions and restart your PC. Do you still have problems with Safezone? If repair function doesn,t work you can try remove Avast /PRO,IS with aswclear.exe

aswclear: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

How to use aswclear.exe.

Go to safe mode
Run aswclear.exe
Click remove and follow istuction
Restart your PC
Install latest version of Avast /PRO,IS (7.0.1466)
Restart your PC

I repaired and restarted as you said.

SafeZone now opens the SafeZoneBrowser, it works.

Thank you very much for the help! :D

I also had a similar error:

"The Exception Breakpoint
A breakpoint has been reached.
(0x80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x5622c1d0."

I tried using aswclear.exe, folloawing the directions listed above to no avail... any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Have the same here, I did work before rebuilding (win 7 - 32bit ultimate). Tried remove / reinstall and repair, removed and re-installed Chrome. Out of options really. Either the usual MS patch has made things worse, my Avast is broken (Everything else works in the suite), Chrome is bust. Any assistance would be appreciated really loved this feature (Don't trust IE 'In Private). Oh and my FW is Private Firewall Latest update and Avast is trusted (Have full sec on so any changes I can train so not blocked). Sme

Answered my own question - silly really. I only had to go into Avast and put Chrome back into the Sandbox apps (Doh!)

Doing the following solved this problem for me  :)

Start - Avast - Avast! Internet Security - Settings - Tools - SafeZone Customize - Reset SafeZone - OK.
