Every Boot I get 'Complete Update' window
« on: February 11, 2014, 03:16:10 PM »
Since the last update to the free version every time I boot my PC I get a window to complete the update and offering to instal Crome.
Is this a permanant feature in the free version?

no...try this

controlpanel > ad/remove programs > avast > uninstall/change > repair option....wait a minute and reboot

any change?

if not go for a new clean install   http://www.avast.com/en-eu/uninstall-utility    /   http://www.avast.com/en-eu/download-software

Is this the window that you get (see image, click to expand) ?
If so can you see the Continue button on the screen and if you can, did you click it (and uncheck the Chrome options) ?

Some netbooks or other low resolution monitors can't see all of this screen (e.g. the Continue button), failure to click on that (closing the window using the X top right) would result in it being displayed on the next boot.
