AOL browser -v- IE

Does anyone know which browser Aol uses? and which is the safest Aol or IE?  :)

Used to be Netscape, but I think the latest is built on I.E.

The latest build should have tabbed browsing which I.E. hasn't, and also some other "nanny" features peculiar to AOL's style of web browsing.  Personally I use Firefox.  I'm not the best person to ask as I've never used AOL, just from what I've seen on other pc's.

AOL has always used IE. It uses all of IE's settings so the security is the same ;)

They did play around for a while with using a mozilla based browser but ultimately stuck with IE.

That's actually strange considering they own Netscape. They where also the biggest complainer in the lawsuit agains MS.

There must be something in the AOHELL browser settings, like the firefox option to block or display images that are not on the local website domain.

I don't know what "member flags" is - but AOL does do it's own cacheing - so try to right click on the page in question and click "refresh"

@Bob -
my opinion on why AOL doesn't go mozilla based is that it is one less thing to support. And they can continue to say "sorry sir, your broswer has been hijacked because IE s*cks"  ;D

Really, much of the AOL client content is delivered via Active x

Click on the 'MEMBER MAP' button at the top of the screen, after you place your location (pin) on the map, it will display your flag near your name.

The problem will most likely lie in your AOHELL settings/options.

You can temporarily switch to the default theme and add your pin and revert to the theme of your choice.

For some strange reason it seems to be working with Aol browser now, I didn't even alter anything  :)

I have been converted, heard so many of you use Firefox, installed it with lots of help, hope I have better luck with this one  ;D ;D
