Upgrade Over the top?

Hi all,  I am running Avast Free and contemplating an upgrade to Avast Pro. My question is whether I must uninstall the free first, or can I install the Pro over the top. If I have to uninstall the Free first, would Uninstall be sufficient, or do I have to use the Clean tool also?

Once you recieve your license file by email ( make sure to save license file ) you simply add the file to your current avast ( maintanence/Registration ) and it will convert your free version into the version purchased, if there were any problems from there on then i would suggest a clean install.

What craigb says is exactly what I did on both my Win 7 and XP machines when I purchased the full AIS suite. It worked perfectly.
