Suggestion - should avasthave a parental control
« on: September 07, 2012, 01:00:50 AM »
I think its time to avast to have a parental control - it is a very commoun feature in many oters av programs and its an easyier way to block access based on site categories
Iknow we already have a very simmilar feature on site blocking existent feature but i really think we can use the 2 features(P CONTROL AND already existent site blocker without problems , for example using pcontrol for the categories and site blocker for an specific site) what you think

Sorry but I disagree, parental control isn't a security feature. Then there are these who would consider it bloat and there are plenty of parental control options out there for those that want it. You can also use OpenDNS for your DNS Server and that has parental control options.

Avast had its own stand alone Parental Program paid option, I don't know if it is still available. So if it were ever to make an appearance I would imagine it would only be in the Paid Versions and probably the suite.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

+1
For me, I would rather not have the added 'weight' in my AIS. :)
From what kids have shown me, they work around parental control fairly easily. ???
