For a while I assumed that the, increasingly frequent, Malicious URL/Malware blocked red box was just a sign of Avast free doing its job. Its became ridiculous now and when I had to increase the size of the Chest, even an ICT averse user thought that I had a problem!
I found that in trying to go through the list of things to do, Microsoft Updates was no longer happening and a system restore didn't work,
"Failed to extract original copy of the directory from the restore point.
Source: %SystemRoot%\registration
Destination: ComPlusStaging"
Marwarebytes seemed to go through its thing, but didn't remove the problem.
aswMBR seemed to hang up towards the end and freeze, but it did show one red line.
"FileC:\Windows\System32\services.exe **INFECTED** win32:Patched-AKC[Trj]
Can someone help me through this without me thinking I'm going to wreck my laptop?
