Webmail/Internet Security 7

I have just purchased Internet Security 7 in past few days.  Only complaint so far...

I use Network Solutions webmail primarily for my business.  Service scans every few seconds when I am writing and often will freeze the screen.  Is there someway to "turn off" or put this on a safe list?  I do not open attachments from people I do not know nor exactly understand what you are trying to prevent by this constant scanning.  Thank you.

In order for us to help you, we need some more information from you.
What Operating system are you using ???
What other Security related programs are you running ???
Which Antivirus program was installed before avast! and, how did you remove that Antivirus program ???
