System shutdown is possible from within a sandbox
« on: August 31, 2012, 02:09:02 PM »
Hi,

I had console window opened in sandbox, and tried to use shutdown - to my surprise, it did shutdown the system. I thought that this should not be possible, especially when "run as limited user" is selected for SandBox applications.

I know that limited users normally may shutdown the system, but, IMHO, sandboxed apps should not be able to do so.

So, my question is - is this intentional behavior, or a bug?

Do you use Win8? There was probably a bug in sandbox code for this OS.
If not, how did you shutdown the system? I tried to run cmd in sandbox, then type "shutdown -r -t 1" and I got "Access denied" error code.

Thanks.
