OK. I noted that someone else had this problem. The thread was closed and there was no solution.
I did not find that the specialist uninstaller did the job. I have two lots of AVAST folders in program files. Do NB that I use explorer. Don't need anything to do with chrome, firefox etc.
the fact that no one responded to my ticket and left me with a blue screen was another reason for my disappointment with aVAST. I appreicate your input but a technician might have resolved it.
