Thought it wasn't safe to have any other antivirus programs installed along with Avast.
did i say it was safe?

It didn't say.

using Malwarebytes is safe....it is also the best tool you find

I just download and installed Malwarebytes, ran a scan and no malware was found.

Does Avast scan for malware?

"  Malware, short for malicious software, is software used or created to disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information, or gain access to private computer systems. It can appear in the form of code, scripts, active content, and other software.[1] 'Malware' is a general term used to refer to a variety of forms of hostile or intrusive software.[2]

Malware includes computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, adware, and other malicious programs. In law, malware is sometimes known as a computer contaminant, as in the legal codes of several U.S. states.[3][4] Malware is not the same as defective software, which is software that has a legitimate purpose but contains harmful bugs that were not noticed before release. However, some malware is disguised as genuine software, and may come from an official company website. An example of this is software used for harmless purposes that is packed with additional tracking software that gathers marketing statistics.

Malware has caused the rise in use of protective software types such as anti virus, anti-malware, and firewalls. Each of these are commonly used by personal users and corporate networks in order to stop the unauthorized access by other computer users, as well as the automated spread of malicious scripts and software."

Please stop being defensive every time someone makes a suggestion.
By now you should already know that we're trying to help and wouldn't
suggest anything that we haven't already done.
Searching for information and then comparing an weighing the results to receive your answer
will stop you from having to ask so many basic questions.
You could also use the search option within this forum to obtain an answer to many of the questions you've
asked here. ( Some of your questions are repeat questions and a search would have revealed that. )

Amazing, you'll use the ASK toolbar which every one avoids like the plague and refuse to use
a perfectly good search engine like Google.

I think you need to get back to basics and stop using things that aren't good for your system.

I don't have the toolbar.   I just ask a question on the aj page.  My Firefox homepage has never been changed.  I don't know what Nero is but it was already on my newest computer when I bought it back in June of this year.  It doesn't show up on my installed program's.  Every once in a while I'll see it flash across my computer screen, then after a few seconds it's gone.

I guess you still don't get the point.
ASK toolbar or online search is NOT desirable.
Use Bing or Chrome or Yahoo. Stay away from ASK
