I've been caught in this same scenario for over 2 months. Uninstall, clean, reinstall same thing over and over, IE is always sandboxed. If I set IE to always run outside the sandbox, it will just once then reverts back. This happens on all 4 of my pc's.

I had tried firstly the repair tool, without any success. Nothing changes.
Than next step were to reboot in safe mode, where the uninstall utility did the job to uninstall avast since the 5th vr.
The new installation of avast makes me happy.
For me this workaround did the job.
Talking about what previous poster said I think it is better check the IE Vr. update it if needed, than make again the steps like me, or maybe better update it (IE) without avast installed because it is not possible sandboxed.
Cheers!

Having the same problem when opening a web page from within my Ancestry program.  I did as you suggested and after the first suggestion didn't work, I re-installed the program, and it's still doing that.  I wouldn't care, but it makes it so I can't open anything.

My free version didn't give me this grief!  What else can I try? ???

Thanks for your help.
