Permitting access to a website though network shield
« on: October 01, 2012, 04:44:32 AM »
It happens from time to time when I need to access a site that avast happens to think is infected, and the network shield stops me from accessing it.  So I end up disabling it, and forgetting to re-enable it.
Anyway, long story short, how do I add a site to the "allow" list.  Real time shields -> Web Shield -> Expert settings -> Exclusions adding to "URL's to exclude" noes nothing.  Still the site get blocked.

I wouldn't advise excluding any sites from avast as there is a high probability that the site in question is infected, you can scan the site yourself with http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/  https://www.virustotal.com/#url if you'd like one of the members more experienced in these areas to help check for you then you would also have to post the url of the site ( please break the links by changing http to hxxp )

Please don't take this as rude, but my question was how to do it, not if it is advisable.  I am a computer tech myself, but unfortunately the avast interface eludes me.  I simply cannot find the spot to do it.  Can you please provide me direction on how to do it.
Thanks,.
