Windows Live Mail - "Unknown Error"
« on: October 14, 2012, 03:20:11 AM »
I've got a new laptop with Windows 7, Windows Live Mail, and Avast Internet Security.  The Live Mail worked fine for about a week, and then suddenly began having problems opening and deleting some emails with the following error showing:  "An unknown error has occured".  This error blocks me from reading emails or even deleting them.  In my searching around the internet for a solution, there doesn't seem to be one although the problem has been around for a couple of years, but several have suggested that the anti-virus program might be corrupting files.

I've turned the Avast "Mail Shield" off and some of the incoming emails still have the problem.  Some have suggested uninstalling the anti-virus and reinstalling without the Mail Shield.

Can anyone please help me with this problem?

Thank you,
Kurt

Are you using Windows Live Mail with a hotmail/Outlook account ? if so there has been some connection issues in the last couple of days on Hotmails end.

Good Morning,
Live Mail is being used with a bellsouth.net email account which actually runs through Yahoo now.
Thanks,
Kurt
