Avast Security re Mail

Please explain how to deal with continuous alert from Avast re SSL/TLS connection detected. 
It tells me to disable Mail Client and gives me different IP addresses each time and ports
993 and 995.  I don't understand either the Alert or the solution nor where to find it.  I am
frightened that there is ongoing damage going on in my computer and I can do nothing
about it.  Please help
