man i hate being a newbie at anything
« on: October 20, 2012, 07:36:46 PM »
I just installed avast7 and after configering everything I noticed that there was no fire wall. So i went up to the avast site  and it is suppost to be under the real time shields but it's not. I don't know how to upload a screen shot but  it's either there or it's not? What did i do wrong in installing avast7. Boy i hate being a newbie and posting about something this simple but i check all over the web and it shows a firewall with avast7 . Darn, sorry I'm sure it's something stupid.

Avast Internet Security comes with a firewall. Avast Free and Pro do not come with a firewall. Did you install Avast Internet Security?

No i installed avast7 free. it's not a big deal. So i would need to add a firewall? that's ok. I have been a loyal ariva user for six years and put up with all the bull. But I've had it and so farthe avast install went fine and I had downloaded pages to read before the install.  I don't like to post and take peopels time if i can figure it out on the internet. However your replay is about three hours faster than the ariva forum, plus i can  only post in my post, locked from posting in any other post? THANKS MUCH

Here is some reading material regarding free firewalls. -> http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-firewall.htm

This is an active forum with many helpful people. Please, ask for help any time you need it. It's not a problem.

I believe, after 3 posts, you will no longer need to deal with the CAPTCHA which is in place to reduce spam. At 20 posts you will have more options available to change your profile - signature, etc.

Check out our signatures for ideas concerning a good third party firewall. All of which play well with avast.
