I too am having outlook issues sending email since the update (Outlook 2007) worked fine before.  I am new to this site so I am not sure how to find answers to my problem.  Please steer me to any posts about solutions to this issue.
Thank you.

As a work-around, you can disable some shields to make it work. Double click on the icon in the system tray to bring up the user interface, and click on Real Time Shields in the left vertical menu. I have network, web, and mail shields disabled, but you may not need all of then shut down in your situation. Click on each shield in the expanded left menu, and click the stop button.

Good luck.
Dan

I can confirm: 1473 is definitely a no-go on XP64.
Updated via the GUI, everything seemed ok, but after reboot the problems started:
- 32 bit apps do not work. They just sit in the task manager as phantom processes using ~700kb. Can't kill them, not even with the shields disabled. With the shields disabled, you can use 32 bit apps.
- uninstalling avast takes forever.
- system won't reboot. had to reboot with the reset switch

I tried a clean install after uninstalling in safe mode with the aswclear utility and re-installed, no luck, same problems.

I've always had problems with avast on XP64 (can't update nic drivers with avast enabled. Can't install virtualbox either (probably related to the nic issue). SUMo program won't work with the shields enabled.), but the system was usable.  Now it's a complete no-go.
I also noticed that there were no items on the "additional protection" tab except URL blocking, no sandbox (it seems this never existed in the first place for xp64), no browser protection and no remote assistance.

I hope the devs can release a fixed version soon.

Updated via UI over 7.0.1472 RC, working fine so far except FF WebRep function.

The avast's WebRep plugin for FireFox is unfortunately not working in build 7.0.1473. It's been fixed already and we'll release the fix soon.
Please don't neglect the other trouble scenarios when you do the fix for 7.0.1473. We're all retreated to .1466 while we wait.  :)

As suggested by lukas.hasik (avast team) an interim workaround is to disable the Behavior Shield, until this is corrected.

Thanks DavidR, but it isn't actually a big deal for me, since I rarely use XP 64 (I dual boot into it only when I need to run HFSLIP). My main OS is win7 x64.
I switched to AVG free for the time being...

c ya!

Beta testing should be somewhere in the 1st quarter of 2013 but nothing is set in stone so you will just have to monitor the forums.

Have you noticed that Version 7.0.1473 has a few major problems that require a new build?

If it is needed, a minor build will be released for sure.
The intention would be, anyway, just to correct a bug but not to improve or add features, that will come to light only on version 8.

Thanks for the clarification. However it looks like there's a few bugs. Some folks like myself aren't able to re-boot after the install, and thanks to Rollback Rx have to revert to .1466, and others have their computers freeze after re-boot etc.  :'(

My computer is freezing on startup after updating from 1466 to 1473. I had to uninstall Avast entirely to get the computer to finish booting. I've seen people saying they're reverting back to 1466 until a fix is applied, but I can't seem to find any way to do this. :(

Someone suggested in another thread that I should download the 1466 installer from Filehippo, but I'm still getting 1473 no matter what version I try to download. Can anyone offer a solution on how to get back to 1466??
