Got to 121005-0 with no update notification

Last night I had 121003-1, but today when I started up, I had 121005-0 and I never got a notification from Avast!. Anyone else have this issue?

I normally get an update notification.

nope, didn't miss it. My popup time is set to 60 seconds. I never went away from the screen after logging in. I've had this issue once before I think. The overwhelming majority of the time it makes a notice. I did still get my normal sound when my quick scan finished. I'll wait for the next update and see what happens.

I got the update and the update notification.  Thanks to Avast for addressing the problem promptly.

Oh, 60 seconds?  (I actually reduced the normal update notif's duration at some point.)  I've never given normal, smooth-working update notifications much importance, so I tend to think that it's not an issue I'd worry about, but otherwise I'm drawing a blank as to what might cause this.  Then again, I haven't given it a thought before.  All I can say is, even if it's a glitch, it isn't one that I'd care about much (or even notice for a while).

Tend to check whenever I disconnect (intentionally), and after reconnecting, resuming from hibernation, and just randomly, intermittently, whenever I think of it, so as long as the updates go smoothly and I like the numbers and confirmations I see, I'm all Zen about Avast.

I have a theory, I've noticed sometimes there is a fairly length delay between startup and the notification.

During that delay, I did try to do a manual update, that could have suppressed the update notification.

I answered your other posts about this, so try and keep any related post in just one topic, it avoids duplication for those trying to help. That said, manual updates don't get any notification as you initiated it and know you have checked.

Got the same issue with 121025-2. Weird.

My computer started up from being completely off. It was a little bit before I got a chance to log in on the windows login screen. (Like maybe two minutes, I was loading the washing machine)

When I logged up, Avast already stated 121025-2. No notification.

I'll see if I have this problem again in the morning.

You most likely missed the notification since you were not logged-in, were away for 2 mins before log-in, and you have the popup set for 60 seconds. Nothing weird about that.

A handy tip for you, right click on the avast tray icon and select 'Show last popup message' if you received a notification that option would be available. Obviously you would only see that if you haven't rebooted or had any other messages.

The avast update has higher privileges than standard user, so I don't believe you have to have been logged in only that windows has started. If this is correct then you wouldn't see a notification and the 'Show last popup message' option wouldn't be available either.
