virus my avast antivirus wont protect me against or wont remove.

avast let a virus on my computer and now it wont take it off. whats the point of having an antivirus program if it wont keep virus's off my computer. Ive had avast for a long time and dont understand where they went wrong. Help avast i am gonna lose everything.

Need more information. Like tell us what you have on your pc, OS,  antivirus.anti malware,also try to explain what happened and how it happened.What virus did you get.

facts of life.....no security program have 100% detection

and if avast did not detect it, how do you know you have it?
