Nas Access problems
« on: October 26, 2012, 04:11:23 PM »
Been having Access problems with my NAS and windows 7 on my Main PC  for some time.

Explorer freezing , or windows nor responding,  then after a while you got temprary access before it freezes again.
A real Pain.

But it all work perfect from the other older PC on the network  running XP , and also its perfect with a Win 7 laptop  throught the Wifi.

All are running Avast  free version.

The only way I can get reliable working access to the NAS  with  the main PC  is to switch off the network shield in Avast .

Is there any way an exception can be added to avast for the NAS so I can have the security shield section working ?

And why only in Windows 7 and not the others ? although with the win 7 wifi laptop ok it must be a local LAN/Avast  issue ?

heres hoping

Chris

Try rebooting in the Safe Mode with Networking and see if Explorer works.   If so, you can try remapping and then reboot normally.

Others may offer another and possibly better solution.
