internet connection
« on: February 03, 2005, 06:11:52 PM »
My internet connection is constantly being lost.  I have ran a complete scan with SB, ad-aware, and zone alarm online scanner and my system is clean.  Any suggestions?

When is it being lost? Directly on connection or after a period of time? Are there any error messages?

Does this happen with only one program or any program with Internet access?

What OS are you usign? What Firewall are you using?

I would also suggest that you run hijackthis and analyse the log that it produces. See Eddy's Website click the "HiJackThis Section" and also the "Malware removal instructions and applications" section, and follow the directions there and get back to us if you need more help....

I run XP home, zone alarm free, avast, spy bot, ad-aware.  It normally happens when I use Shareazza or Interwin DVD creater.  I have bellsouth dsl.  So whenever I use one of these 2 programs I loose my internet connection.

I don't use P2P, but doesn't shareazza use multiple connections (and some tweak to get greater connection rate, have you done somethign like that?), perhaps that is causing dropped connection. Have you tried any other P2P programs and see if the problem remains.

I would have thought that a DVD creator doesn't require internet access, other than for program updates.
