Where can I get this aavm4.dll file that I seem to be missing? Is that the same as this thread notification thing? Running Windows Me. Avast Home 4.5.

See if a repair of Avast solves it.

Add Remove programs, avast! Anti-Virus, Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Repair process completed.

The error messages came directly from AvCommEx.txt. They were not messages that popped up at me or displayed. I just happened to come across them when looking at the files in my log folder.

Did a search for aavm4.dll. No reference to it in the forums. That file is still not on my computer, however, there is an aavm4h.dll file. Maybe when the avast! developers updated the Home Edition 4.5, they might have changed the dll name and not changed everywhere in the program that refers to it. If that's not the case and this is a completely different file, I still don't have it.

I had a similar problem with the skins. I downloaded them all from the web, but avast! did not recognize them. I had to download them all again from within the program to get avast! to "see" them. That's when I noticed the differences in the filenames. Some end in aswsc, and some end in asws.
