Problem with IE 8 Slow to operate

Hello, I am working on a Auto Body shop's main computer and would like to know if there is some basic settings that I have set up to High for the OS, IE8 (which is required by Autobody programs) and special programs for the business through the internet? I normally set the full time scanners and scheduled scans to max for better use, but I think they are interfering with proformance of maching. The OS is Win7 Home Premium 64 bit and Avast pro latest updated program.

I'd suggest returning avast to the default settings as this is the best balance between protection and performance, the only shield I set to high is the Web shield.
