dial up conn.

Having problems with my dial up connection after installing the Avast 4 home edition. I no longer get the dial up pop up box. I have to go to my computor then to dial up connections to connect to the internet. I am using windows 98. I have already made the change [InetWD] but has not helped .

You need to re-enable it in the Internet Explorer (Tools->Internet Options->Connections).

Duh, should have probably thought of that!
Can you tell me Why I  get Pre Dial Up Terminal Screen. I think this is something I might of changed trying to get my dial up box back???

Zetor,

I can't remember if Windows 98 is the same, but under Windows XP there is an option on the security tab of the connection's properties window, Show terminal window.  See whether this option is available and if it is selected.
